To perform this wild glitch, Super Smash Bros Ultimate players will need to play as Isabelle and also be fighting at least one other Isabelle. This whole strategy revolves around Isabelle’s side-special move, the fishing rod. This move will allow Isabelle to pull items (or other players) toward her. To execute the glitch, two Isabelle players must hook and reel in an assist trophy at the same time.

One player will “win” the assist trophy and will be locked in a spawn animation to continuously summon whatever the assist trophy’s character is (like Waluigi, for example). This glitch will be a living nightmare for the opponent(s) as there will be a constant wave of the same assist trophy wreaking havoc on the stage. This applies to any assist trophy it seems, ranging from a dozen Shovel Knights to a swarm of Rathalos.

While this glitch is incredibly hilarious, it is not the easiest to pull off and requires very specific circumstances. Thankfully it will be near impossible to replicate in an online match, so players will not have to worry about that. This glitch will likely be patched out by Nintendo fairly soon, as they have been closely monitoring the game and dishing out updates to fix game-breaking issues. While Nintendo has not been very transparent about what they have fixed in the most recent update, the fact that there have been balance changes so soon after launch means that Nintendo is actively watching how the game is performing.

As more players get their hands on the game, more weird ability interactions like this are sure to be discovered. Sometimes glitches like this fall through the cracks in development, leading to fans discovering these wild tricks. With more fighters on the way over the course of the next year, including Joker from Persona 5, there are sure to be some more fun discoveries in Smash Ultimate’s future.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is available now exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
