Brown, the game’s leading receiver at the time of his injury, leapt to make a spectacular 42-yard catch on third-and-8 from the Panthers’ 20-yard line but left the field after the play. It was his fourth catch for a total of 80 yards.

Brown was then taken to the locker room for further evaluation. He was later ruled out after failing to pass concussion tests.
Although the official announcement was for a calf injury, the broadcast specified that Brown was being evaluated for a concussion.
The Broncos led the Panthers 16-7 heading into the fourth quarter.
