RELATED: MMORPGs Perfect For Newcomers To The Genre
Seeing as there are three starter characters to choose from, many players may be torn on which character is going to be the best for their playthrough. There are some things about all three starters that players should know, especially when starting the game for the first time.
3 Kina - The Summoner Of Healing
Kinda is a Summoner in the Healer Class. As such, this means her gameplay during battle is going to be more focused on healing her allies after they start taking damage from their enemies. Although she has a few skills relating to attacking and defending, they are not really considered to be that good, and a player’s focus should be put on building her as a healer.
Once she is properly built, though, Kina will be a very good supporter for players to use in their early game progress. Enemies will hit hard, especially when a player is newer and does not have good enough equipment to let their units take damage. As such, a well-built Kina as a starter will be important in helping their units survive for longer.

Something worth noting is that, because a player would primarily be using Kina as a way to fix any of the damage enemies deal, they will have to tailor their team around being damage dealers. Kina will not be able to supply most of the damage herself, and instead will have to use hard-hitting units such as the Chimeras, or the Water Polar Queen. As such, Kina is primarily for a player who likes to stay in the back - instead of the front line - and support their teammates to help them unleash their full potential against their enemies.
2 Orbia - The Summoner Of Magic
Orbia is the Summoner that is considered one of the Magicians, which makes her a powerful Mage unit for a player to use in their team. Her gameplay reflects this as well - similarly to Kina, she is meant to stay more in the back, but instead of healing Orbia will have a large variety of debuffs and powerful spells to offer to a player who is itching for a fight.
While Orbia is generally considered to be a unit that is not on the front line, that does not mean she is helpless on her own. Quite the opposite, actually - this Summoner will be integral in providing debuffs and even some really nice damage against her enemies. Her skills are not meant for close range, but her long-range attacks are incredible.

Seeing as Orbia’s kit mainly revolves around keeping enemies trapped in hallucinations, wandering into other dimensions, or just plain debuffed, it would be wise for a player to tailor their team toward her weaknesses. This means that units such as the fire Monkey King will be of great help to people who are building Orbia, due to the fact that he is going to be a great help in defending the frontlines. It also helps that the fire Monkey King is also just one of the best units in general when it comes to Summoner’s War: Chronicles, not just when paired up with Orbia.
1 Cleaf - The Summoner Of Protection
Cleaf is generally considered by many players to be the best starter that a player could go with. This is mainly because he is used as the “front line” unit, so to speak, and as such can hold his own for a while without needing the support of particularly strong units. Cleaf comes with a great set of attacking and defending skills, which will be great for a player to use especially if they are new to the game.
Cleaf is considered to be the “new player-friendly” starting character, due to how easily he can hold off on the front line. All a player really needs when it comes to Cleaf’s team is a few backup damage dealers, along with maybe a Support class or a healer to ensure that his health never gets too low on the battlefield. This is much easier to deal with, as Cleaf is already pretty good just by himself.
Players will soon figure out that units like the wind Occult Girl will work well in a team featuring Cleaf. This is mainly because she is great at backing up her allies from the back of the battlefield, and her defending skills are also pretty good by themselves. As such, Cleaf will be great in protecting the team that a player builds, with only minimal support from their units.
Summoner’s War: Chronicles is available on Android, iOS, and Microsoft Windows.
