The fast food chain is offering nine fans the opportunity to dine on their signature subs for a month, a year, or forever.
The brand confirmed those willing to get a 2 inch by 2 inch tattoo on their wrist, biceps or foot would get food for a month, while anyone daring to get a 3" x 3" inking on their shoulder blade, forearm or calf would receive subs for a whole year.
And one person who’s willing to tattoo a 12" x 12" tattoo, aka “the footlong,” on their sternum or back would receive free Subway sandwiches for life.
The tattoo needs to be of the logo for their new menu, dubbed the Subway Series.
The “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to be “a permanent part of their history” will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis at Bad Apple Tattoo, 5640 W Charleston Blvd. B, Las Vegas.
The inking will be done by “two-time Ink Master Champion” DJ Tambe, or a team member. The offer celebrates the restaurant’s Subway Series of 12 new sandwiches, which launched on July 5.
Tambe said: “Tattoos hold a special meaning for my customers, they come to me to celebrate the things they love the most or to commemorate a major moment in their lives.
“Whether that’s the first time trying the Subway Series, or simply eternal love for Subway, I’m here to make that a permanent part of their lives and something to showcase.”
Only nine tattoos will be up for grabs, one of the daring footlong due to “the time required to create a tattoo,” with the remaining eight either the 3” or 2" options.
Subway stated the offer is open to U.S. residents who are 21 and over. The offer begins at 11 a.m. PT and ends at 5 p.m. PT, on July 27.
Those offering themselves to be inked will need to sign a release, with the free sandwiches awarded as a $372 gift card for the month option, $4,380 for the year, and a whopping $50,000 worth of gift cards for the footlong.
Subway, which started off in 1966 as “Pete’s Super Submarines,” is now the fourth most valuable quick service restaurant as of last year, according to statistics.
The figures, taken from a Kantar Brandz most valuable global brands 2021 report, stated Subway had a brand value of $14,762 million. That figure is up from $13,768 million, according to Statista.
Kantar Brandz revealed the most valuable is McDonald’s, with $154,921 million, in second place was Starbucks with $60,267 million, and just ahead of Subway was KFC, with $18,189 million.
Alongside the tattoos, Subway is throwing a block party, giving away free 6" subs from the new menu.
Available nationwide, options include The Outlaw, Bella Mozza, The Boss, Supreme Meats, The Monster, The Champ and the All-American Club.
And they confirmed: “Fans who wish to show their love for Subway in a less permanent way can get an airbrush tattoo as well.”
